Jan. 2 & 3 #2hrchallenge

Day 2 of the 2 hour daily challenge. Everyday for the rest of the month I will be spending 2 hours everyday in the studio working on my art. The idea is to get back into a daily routine and challenge other artists to join me. I know I'll grow and learn more by painting a little bit each day than long periods once or twice a week. As a teaching artist its a good balance for me since a lot of my time is spent in the classroom or planning lessons. Below are pictures from Jan. 2 and 3 of the challenge.

Jan 2. - 2 hour daily challenge

Jan 2. - 2 hour daily challenge

I've been working on a few new small paintings. These small works are a reflection of people and their pets. I have two dogs who are definitely a part of the family. I want to paint works that reflect the connection and love between man and animal.

Jan. 3 - 2 hour daily challenge. Still a work in progress but getting closer. I can already tell I need to trim a bit off her head. Sometimes its easier for me to see changes after I snap a picture of the work and view it on a computer.
