Jan 7 & 8 - #2hrchallenge

I'm getting back into the groove of it again. Loving my studio time and the routine of it. Here is yesterday and today's post.

Jan 7 -

On Sat. I finished up this portrait. I was working from multiple references to get the likeness and gesture of the boy.

I still had some time on the clock so I started this portrait. My friend Ani modeled for me a few years back. I've been wanting to paint this photo since then. I'm finally getting the chance. Keeping it loose and free in beginning stages.

And from today... Jan 8

I worked on this portrait more today. I am trying to keep it loose and juicy strokes of paint.

I like to have a big clean surface to work on. My palette gets cleaned off every night so I can work with fresh mixtures each day. Color mixing is one of my favorite parts.
