We're into it now - three weeks down and three to go. My students are working hard and learning a lot! Last week we focussed on out tools and materials. Quick studies encourages growth and familiarity through repetition, students used new brushes and tools to become more comfortable with them. They also painted on new surfaces which included linen, panels, black gesso boards, oil paper, ceramics, glass, and fabric. Not only did the students learn from the process, but from their peers as well.
I am excited to be offering a Speed Studies Workshop in Sioux Falls, SD this fall at The Museum of Visual Materials. This is a great chance for painters and students alike to freshen up their skills and learn new ones. Students and painters will leave with a better understanding of light and color, brush handling, and design. These techniques can be taken back to the studio and applied for more successful and productive artwork. Group and individual attention allows artists of all levels to come and challenge their skills. Instructional demonstration will be given Monday morning from 10-12pm. Demo included in the workshop, but open to anyone for ticketed price. Reserve your spot today!
