Class- change in time

Hi all, We enjoyed our first week of Speed Studies. The students did great and really kept up with the change in pace. I'm excited to see the progress as we cont. forward. There will be a change in time. We will now be meeting from 12-4 every Thursday. This change will hopefully work better with schedules and beating the commute traffic.

Take a Class

Interested in becoming a better painter? Come take a class with me. I am excited to start teaching this class as I saw huge leaps in my artwork while taking a similar class. It allowed me to experiment, get better brush handling skills, work on color combinations, and gain overall confidence. We will paint still life, landscape, and figure, rotating the subjects each week. Each study will be timed allowing 30min, 40 and 60 min. amounts of time to paint.

Inspiration in the figure

I found a wonderful spot to paint that has quickly become my favorite open figure painting group. Patris Gallery and Studio is an unassuming brick building in the up and coming Oak Park neighborhood. Walking inside however, one is struck by the wonderful figurative work hanging on the walls. The high ceiling and sky lights open the room and provide a relaxing place to view art and paint. Every Friday a group of artist join together to paint from a live model. Getting two poses into a three hour time period proves to be a challenging and energetic setting. Below are some pictures from last weeks paint session. Enjoy the process and come join me next time to "make art, be art, buy art!"
